Cast Iron Owl Andirons, circa 1900. Howes Foundry, Boston, Ma.

Cast iron owl form andirons with glass eyes through which the fire glows were made by the Howes foundry of Boston, Massachusetts around the turn of the century, 1900. The glass eyes have no cracks or breaks. There is one apology on the casting of one andiron, where there is a break is on the back side of the piece, but does not affect its structure and support, nor is it noticeable from forward view. Price is reflective of above mentioned. Measures: 14 3/4" H. x 9 1/4" W. x 17 1/2" D.
