Hessian soldier andirons, Early 1800s. Provenance: Upstate New York. 20” H x 9” W x 18” D. Excellent patina and original paint giving a beautiful vintage look. Extremely rare being depicted with Blue coats and a fine example of such. Hessians were German soldiers who served as auxiliaries to the British Army during the American Revolutionary War.
