"George Washington and His Family" C.1864 Framed Lithograph
"George Washington and His Family" C.1864 Framed Lithograph. Lithograph was received with current frame of Mahogany with guilded inner border (likely early 1900s) in tact with poor backing, but in tact. Some foxing and water damage done to mostly borders, but rich and striking qualities from the subject, namely the eyes. The ink appears raised in areas, giving the appearance of 3D. Was reset into frame and fitted with foam backing and museum glass by an industry professional. 154 Years old and ready to tell some more stories! Lithograph showing George and Martha Washington sitting at a table with George Washington Parke Custis and Nelly Custis standing to the right and left of George, and a servant entering on the far right. On the table is a map showing the plan for the city of Washington at the confluence of the "Potomac" and "Eastern Branch" rivers.
