Dutch Empire Marquetry Stand in mahogany and fruitwood. C.1850. Wonderful foliate Inlay with bordered edges and a butterfly on the top of the piece. Opens with original brass bail handle pulls. Stand sits atop 4 caster wheels which move freely and allow for easy movement of piece. Within the last 100 years it is apparent that a highly skilled woodworker, perhaps a cabinet maker, rebuilt the interior portion of the stand including machine cut dovetails to the drawers. Measures: 30" H x 21 1/2" W x 17 1/2" D. Provenance: Charlestown, Massachusetts estate.
